About KVK
Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Dausa was established in 1995 with full financial contribution from Indian Council of Agriculture Research, New Delhi. It works under administrative control of Sri Karan Narendra Agriculture University, Jobner. It is situated at Lawan Mode on Dausa-Sawai Madhopur National highway 148 and is about 12 kilometers away from district head quarter. It has about 17.3 hectare area consisting of Administrative building, 2 farmer hostels, seed go down, implement shed, 5 residential quarters, water harvesting structure and farm. Since establishment KVK has been working continuously towards transfer of latest and scientific technologies to the farmers, farm women, rural youth and extension functionaries. For proper functioning of KVK 16 posts are sanctioned including Senior Scientist & Head, 6 Subject Matter Specialists, 3 Technical Assistants, 2 Drivers, 2 Ministerial and 2 supporting staff.
Soil of KVK farm is clay loam and calcareous and alkali in nature. The soil of KVK farm has pH value between 8.88 and 9.65 and electrical conductivity (EC) between 0.42 and 1.24 dS/m. The source of irrigation at KVK farm is rain water harvesting structure constructed at farm itself.
KVK Dausa has various live demo units at its farm including rain water harvesting, roof water harvesting, goatry, nursery, Azolla, vermicompost, seed production, crop cafetaria, kitchen garden, mushroom etc.
KVK is an integral part of the National Agricultural Research System (NARS), aims at assessment of location specific technology modules in agriculture and allied enterprises, through technology assessment, refinement and demonstrations.
